Bio of Jay Park
Jay Park, more affectionately known to his fans as Jaebeom, is an American-Korean singer, dancer, actor and former leader of South Korean boyband, 2PM. He is also a member of Seattle-based b-boy crew, Art of Movement (AOM).
Jay’s first foray into entertainment was by way of an audition held in the US for JYP Entertainment. He shone through his talent and was brought to Korea where he trained for four years before his debut.
After intense physical training, Jay emerged as the leader of 2PM and the band went on to become one of K-Pop’s biggest bands and spawned several hits in which Jay choreographed dance moves for.
In September 2009, comments he made on his personal MySpace account during his training surfaced and were taken out of context and blown out of proportion. It caused a major controversy and he was dismissed from the band. Jay then went back to the United States, which led to a bevy of fans from all around the world protesting and petitioning for his return to Korea and the band.
After his hiatus, Jay bounced back onto the scene with his video of him singing “Nothin’ On You” on Youtube and it went viral and reached 1.5 million views in less than 24 hours. The original song by B.o.B and Bruno Mars also went on to top the charts across major music sites and led to its huge success in Korea with his Youtube cover.
Jay finally returned to Korea after nine months for the filming of Hype Nation, and thousands of fans showed up at the airport to show their unwavering support and he also became a top trending topic on Twitter.
Jay Park is now back, stronger than ever and all ready to showcase to the world his talents.
