Häagen-Dazs: Slow Melting In Progress

Häagen-Dazs introduces new ice-cream creations this month.  I was fortunate to taste the Sushi Platter.  They’re really lovely to look at.  Amazing how Ice Cream can be made to look like Sushi.   I was fortunate to experience how the Sushi Platter is made.   There’s a lot of hard work put in to create these creations.  Limited quantities are produced for each Häagen-Dazs outlet in Singapore.  For just S$22.00,  the sensory experience is quite something – to the point that it is too pretty to eat!

Each platter consists of:

1. Mango & Passion Fruit Sushi – Macadamia Nut ice cream, Mango & Passion Fruit ice cream, Chocolate
2. Strawberry Gunkan – Macadamia Nut ice cream, Strawberry fruit, Chocolate
3. Kiwi Gunkan – Vanilla ice cream, Kiwi Fruit, Chocolate
4. Mango Sorbet Sushi – Vanilla ice cream, Mango Sorbet
5. Served with a mini scoop of Green Tea ice cream.

Here’re some photos of a demonstration of how the Sushi Platter is created.  It sure takes a lot of time to do up a set.  And they are usually done in a cold room centrally and delivered to each individual outlet daily.

A chocoholic’s dream made real with Chocolate, Belgian Chocolate and Cookies & Chocolate ice cream, cookie crunch, almond nibs, fresh strawberry and chocolate sauce.

All other classic creations such as Banana Split and Brownie Celebration have also been given a fresh look in the new menu, with elegant presentations and delectable flavours.
