MERADIO – your iPhone application to listening to your favourite Mediacorp Radio stations

Singapore, 06 May 2010 – All MediaCorp radio stations are now back on the Internet!

Six radio stations were re-launched on the internet in December last year. The remaining seven stations, namely Gold 90FM, Symphony 92.4FM, Love 97.2FM, Ria 89.7FM, Warna 94.2FM, Oli 96.8FM and Expat Radio 96.3XFM can now be heard online.

This comes about with MediaCorp and the Recording Industry Performance Singapore (RIPS) reaching an agreement to permit such simulcasts.

To stay connected with our audience, our radio stations are also available on the iPhone. iPhone users simply need to download the free app, MeRadio, to listen to their favourite MediaCorp radio stations through their iPhones, anytime, anywhere, even whilst playing games, texting or emailing.

The iPhone app’s first-in-its-class features include a unique background button that allows the user to listen to the station whilst navigating other functions and also the “call and email functions” which allows listeners to contact with the radio stations without having to dial or key in email addresses. With Twitter and email support, you can tell your friends what station and song you are listening to at the touch of a button!

“We’re excited to be able to answer to the clamour of our many listeners, who are accustomed to listening to us online, be it at work, on the go, at home or abroad. They have written in to plead with us to have the other radio stations back online. I’m especially excited that as a bonus, we have further enhanced the connectivity with our audience through the streaming of radio on iPhones. This means our listener takes us anywhere, anytime. Our next phase of roll-out will include the Android and Blackberry phones. The face of Radio is changing, stay tuned to find out more.”
