Today, Etihad Airways revealed its first customer who will be flying the inaugural flight from Abu Dhabi to London in The Residence by Etihad. Miami-based businessman and aviation enthusiast, Mr. Gino Bertuccio will be the first ever to experience the private multi-room cabin on 27 December this year.
We went etihad.com to check the fares on EY11 from Abu Dhabi to Heathrow London on 4 January 2015 returning on EY12 on 6 January 2015. The all-in-fare was listed as AED155,375 which converts to S$55584.69. The Apartments in First Class in its First Suite Freedom rate on the same dates would have cost AED36,665.00 which converts to S$13,213.26.
The Residence features an exclusive three room private cabin on the upper deck at the head of the Airbus A380 aircraft. Luxury on board comes with a living room, double bedroom and ensuite shower room. Etihad Airways’ Airbus A380 fleet will have one such private cabin.
Mr. Gino Bertuccio will get to sleep on a comfortable bed for two in the bedroom that comes with a comforter and soft pillows for a good night’s sleep since the light out of Abu Dhabi on EY11 departs at 2.35 am. He can freshen up with a shower before arriving in London Heathrow at 6.35am. The duration of the flight will take 7 hours 55 minutes.
