Banyan Tree Hotels and Resorts celebrates its 21st anniversary with the launch of a new brand of hotels – Dhawa.
Targeting the design-savvy travellers who demand distinctive experiences in stylish and unique destinations, Dhawa is a contemporary full-service hotel where design, comfort and technology come together for the guest.
There are five touch points at all Dhawa properties.
Cocoons
Guest rooms are designed with local flair and convenience in minds. When I see the word Cocoon, I immediately think of insect larvae being protected in a silky case. That’s really how we should feel comfortable and protected in any hotel room. So we’re pretty cool with rooms being called cocoons.
Pod
Nest
The nest is a communal space that offers complimentary refreshments including hot beverages, sodas, local snacks and ice cream on every floor. We like the sound of this already. Looks like guests will be able to mingle offering a chance to get to know other people from other countries.
Void
Found in the lobby, Void offers you comfort in relaxation pods.
Nook
Nook is the all day restaurant and bar that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Other amenities that you can expect will include a spa, fitness centre and kids club.
The first location to offer Dhawa will be in March next year in Bo’ao, an eastern coastal town on Hainan Island in China. Dhawa Bo’ao features 346 rooms with more than half facing the sea. It will be the first hotel there to offer a quality spa with vibrant design elements.
The second Dhawa will open in in Cuba. The 516-room Dhawa Cayo Las Burjas, Cuba will open in July 2016, making it the first in the region for Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts. Las Brujas is famous for the coral reefs, rich underwater fauna and botanical wildlife. The three storey hotel will feature three restaurants, a swimming pool, gym, kids club, water sports centre and meeting facilities.
Other hotels will opening subsequently in Pu’er, Leishan and Luo Yang in China and Bangkok and Phuket in Thailand.
Today Banyan Tree group manages as well as has ownership interests in over 38 hotels and resorts, more than 70 spas, 80 retail galleries as well as three golf courses.
