British Airways will fly its new flagship A380 three times a week to Singapore from 28 October this year. This will increase its available seats by more than four thousand monthly. Tickets to fly on the A380 went on sale today on ba.com with prices in World Traveller economy starting from S$1,328.
British Airways has four A380s with the latest delivered on 14 January this year and it expects another four more A380s later this year. A total of twenty new aircraft will join British Airways’ fleet this year which includes four 787s and four 777-300ERs. The A380 is currently serving the Los Angeles and Hong Kong route and more recently from 12 February to Johannesburg. It will also fly to Washington DC from 1 September this year.
British Airways has served Singapore for 80 years. It currently operates twice-daily flights between Singapore and London and daily to Sydney.
BA 11 will depart London Heathrow on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday and return from Singapore on BA 12 on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. Flights on the other days will continue to be operated by a Boeing 747 with the 777-300ER as part of the BA15/16 Heathrow to Sydney route.
