Asiana Airlines received its first Airbus A380 today from Toulouse France becoming the world’s 11th operator of the jumbo jet.
Asiana Airlines has ordered six A380s with a premium three class configuration. The aircraft can accommodate 495 passengers – 12 private suites in First Suite, 66 fully flat seats in Business Smartium and 417 seats in Travel Class.
The A380 will be deployed on regional services in Asia including Tokyo, Osaka, Hong Kong and Bangkok from 13 June followed by long-haul routes to Los Angeles this August. Asiana Airlines has also ordered 30 A350 XWB to complement an existing Airbus fleet that includes the A330 and A320 family.
Airbus has 324 firm orders currently on the A380s from 20 customers.
