WomenTalkTV.asia, is an online platform for women to share their stories, inspire and empower other women. Conceived, produced and hosted by Eunice Olsen, presenter, social advocate and ex-Nominated Member of Parliament of Singapore, WomenTalkTV.asia will feature 3 to 7-minute lifestyle interview of compelling and moving true stories of Asian women who have made a difference in the lives of others around them.
Like the interview with Ms Haslinah Yacob (Malaysia), a rape victim at 18 who had found the strength to overcome her past and motivate herself to help other rape victims today with a shelter she started. Ms Haslinah Yacob is now an activist and the President of the Women For Equality Association in Kuala Lumpur.
Ms Yip Pin Xiu (Singapore) was born with muscular dystrophy and sadly by eleven years old she had lost her ability to walk and had to use a wheelchair. But against all odds, Pin Xiu won the first gold medal for Singapore at the Beijing Summer Paralympics 2008 and also set a world record for the event.
And these are just some of the many inspirational interviews that will be shared with women around the globe. If you have a story to share, WomenTalkTV.asia also features WomanTalker where viewer can upload inspiring stories of other women or their own and share with other viewers in the community.
To get updates and to watch the videos on-the-go, WomenTalk will be launching a mobile application for your smart devices by mid-August 2013.
Crowd Funding
Women who have been interviewed by Ms Olsen will be given an opt-in crowd-funding option that allows viewers to donate money to their cause, or to a charitable organisation chosen by them. The backend will be completely transparent and will be published every 6 months. Womentalk will only charge administrative costs for PayPal and all others will go to the beneficiaries.
