Enjoy the beauty of our hawker fare in comfort. Makan@Jen will present the best of Singapore’s food culture with live cooking stations serving up Roti Prata, Hokkien Mee, Oyster Omelette and Chef Lee’s signature Laksa Fried Rice. Seeing that it is durian season, it only makes sense for their Bubur Cha Cha with durian to make its debut! Those adverse to the king of fruits can enjoy the ever-popular Kaya Toast and a plethora of Nyonya Kuehs. This is all for dinner at just S$42++.

Tour de France might not be on many of our bucket lists, but the culinary prowess of the country is a foodie’s dream. To celebrate its return, Brasserie Les Saveurs has crafted an exclusive 5-course menu highlighting the cuisines of the five regions involved in the tour. Guests will be treated to dishes like Gratin of Fines de Claire Oysters, native to the Normandie region and Traditional Slightly Salted Cod Brandade from Languedoc-Roussillon. Prices start from S$108++ per person to S$169++ per person with French wine pairing.

5. The Great Thai Feast at Seasonal Tastes, The Westin Singapore

Thailand is known for housing many culinary treasures, from its ubiquitous street food to favourites originating from the north. This July, Chef Sedtapat presents a feast drawing heavy influence from his grandmother’s repertoire of recipes. There will be the refreshing Som Tam (papaya salad), Tom Yum Gung loaded with river prawns, various spiced sausages and more. One dish diners should go for is the Kanom Jeen. Not only is it rare in Singapore, but will also be prepared fresh at the live station with a selection of seafood or chicken slices.

Prices start from S$68++ person (Sunday to Thursday) to S$82++ person (Friday and Saturday).

It’s time to go for a wok…down memory lane. This year’s #SSFV returns with over 20 culinary partners presenting old favourites, traditional and re-interpretated. One dish sure to steal the show has to be the Chilli Crab in Prata Bag by BIG STREET. It has everything we, Singaporeans, love on one plate; crispy prata soaked in sweet, spicy Chilli Crab. Fellow dessert lovers, no need to fret. We can look forward to Churros Factory’s version of Nyonya 9-layer kueh; Rainbow Churros. Topped with roasted marshmallows, what’s there not to love?

7. The Peranakan

The latest kid on the block that opened in June this year is The Peranakan at Claymore Connect in town. Helmed by executive chef Raymond Khoo behind the creation of Tong Shui Café, 3 Monkeys and Rasa Singapura at The Venetian Macau. With recipes from mum and godma, Chef Raymond dishes out home cooked comfort food. The best way to sample the dishes here is to order the Tok Panjang which is available for lunch or dinner. Priced at S$45 per person or S$65 per person, the dishes are served on rattan baskets. And each guest also receives a complimentary souvenir certificate of attendance which is personalised. Behind the certificate is a Peranakan ‘pantun’ poem about the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew.

With a refreshed menu featuring new dishes such as Sorrentina Pasta (S$16) and long-time favourite Nyonya Dory (S$18), P. Bistro will also be serving up a selection of cocktails, mocktails and wines. And, lets not forget a slice of Coconut Pandan Chiffon (S$7.50) for dessert.

Evening diners will also be dining for a good cause. 10% of dinner bill proceeds will go to Singapore Children’s Society OCBC-TODAY Children’s Fund till December 2016.

9. Truffle Month, Stellar at 1-Altitude

It is the peak of winter truffle season in Australia, and Stellar at 1-Altitude is bringing that bountiful harvest straight to you. Aussie chef Christopher Millar has created an eight course gastronomic journey (S$190++ per pax,min 2 pax), featuring truffles from the famous Manjimup truffle farm in Western Australia.

Diners have the option of specially crafted wine pairing (additional S$95++) or a bottle of Krug Grand Cuvee, 750mL and a truffle pizza aperitif (additional S$360++) to go with their meal. The latter will also get their hands on a complimentary copy of the elusive Krug book, “Poached, scrambled or fried?”.

From 11 July to 31 August 2016,  Oscar’s at Conrad Centennial Singapore will bring back local favourites with Peranakan highlights featuring special Laksa by renowned Singaporean food blogger Miss Tam Chiak. Senior Chef de Cuisine Alex Siak has also prepared other traditional Peranakan dishes such as Ayam Buak Keluak, Pongteh Ayam, Udang Masak Assam, Nonya Chap Chye, and more. Other Singaporean dishes such as Roast Duck, Sweet and Sour Crispy Pork Belly, Spicy Chilli Crab with Crispy Fried Bun, Sambal Sting Ray on Banana Leaf, Chicken and beef satay will also be served.

Lunch is priced at S$59++ per adult and S$29.50++ per child age 6 to 12 years old from Monday to Saturday.

For Dinner, adults pay S$72++ (Sunday to Thursday) and S$83++ (Friday to Saturday) and children pay S$36++ and S$41.50 respectively.

11. Ultimate Crab Feast at Plaza Brasserie, PARKROYAL on Beach Road

Crabs Crabs Crabs. That’s what you will be feasting on at the Ultimate Crab Feast at Plaza Brasserie. This feast has been extended till 30 September 2016. You get to enjoy six new locally inspired crab flavours including the Petai Crab, Assam Crab, Kam Heong Crab, Coffee Crab, Ginger Broth Crab and Wasabi Salted Egg Yolk Crab.

Till 31 July 2016, you get to enjoy the Petai Crab, Assam Crab and Kam Heong Crab in addition to the existing crab flavours which are on a rotation basis. Canadian Snow Crab Legs are in the selection till 31 July 2016 from Mondays to Wednesdays only. Three types of oysters will be included as part of the buffet spread in August and September from Mondays to Wednesdays too. Coffee Crab, Ginger Broth Crab and Wasabi Salted Egg Yolk Crab will be part of the spread from 1 August to 30 September 2016.

Other crab evergreens on the spread include Singapore Chilli Crab, Cereal Crab, Salted Egg Yolk Crab, Black Pepper Crab, White Pepper and Crab with Honey Rock Sugar. Crab inspired dishes are also available. They include the Crab Meat Balls with Potato; Curry Crab Meat in Kueh Pie Tee; Crab Meat Chawanmushi; Thai Glass Noodle Salad; Spicy Crab Meat Salad; Breaded Crab Cake and Pandan Liu Sha Pau in Basket.

The Ultimate Crab Feast is available daily from 6pm to 10pm for dinner at S$75 for adults and S$45 for children. Buffet Lunch on Sundays only is available from 12pm to 2.30pm at S$68++ for adults and S$41++ for children.
