SCOOT & Singapore Airlines (SQ) aircraft at Changi Airport

21 February 2013, Singapore – 4.33 million passengers have passed through Singapore Changi Airport in the first month of 2013, a 1.9% increase compared to last year. In the same month, the airport handled 28,200 flights.

Growth in the air travel demand came mostly from Australia, Japan and Thailand with traffic to and from Sydney, Tokyo and Bangkok increasing by 10% or more.

Two new cafes – Briccocafe and Honeymoon Dessert opened in Terminal 1 while a new souvenir store, Discover Singapore opened in Terminal 3. At Terminal 2, Chopard joined other luxury brands at The Fashion Gallery while American lifetstyle brand Le Sportsac which specializes in casual bags, opened its first outlet at Changi Airport.
