4 February 2013, Bangkok – Thai AirAsia has been around for 9 glorious years and it celebarated its 9th anniversary today. To repay its customers, the airline will be offering a few added benefits such as free Wi-Fi at its new Bangkok hub Don Mueang International Airport, higher flight frequencies to popular destinations as well as more ways to book a plane ticket.
The airline also took the opportunity to bless its 28th aircraft – the eco-friendly and energy-efficient Airbus A320 Sharklet which allows airlines greater distance and cargo capability.
Tassapon Bijleveld, CEO of Thai AirAsia said, “Thai AirAsia has grown and expanded at rapid speed in the last 9 years. Going into our 10th year, we look forward to introducing new innovations to enhance our passengers’ travel experience. This year, Thai AirAsia will receive 7 new Airbus A320s to end 2013 with a fleet of 34 aircraft … It is Thailand’s first such aviation innovation and is indicative of AirAsia’s unceasing progress. The new aircraft will be operating from today onward on routes both domestic and international”.
