31 December 2012, Singapore –  Singapore’s Central Business District gets a new hotel in the new year.  Marking a new iconic hotel landmark next to Chinatown is the PARKROYAL on Pickering which offers 367 rooms and is located only minutes away from the dining and entertainment scene along Singapore River such as Clarke Quay and Boat Quay.  Originally scheduled to open by end of 2012, the hotel has moved its opening to mid January 2013.

PARKROYAL on Pickering offers a luscious environment featuring 15,000 square metres of lush gardens, waterfalls and planter walls.  The hotel is also Singapore’s first zero-energy sky gardens powered by solar energy cells with a diverse variety of over 10 flora species.  It has been awarded the Building and Construction Authority Green Mark Platinum award, Singapore’s highest rating for green buildings and has also won the Solar Pioneer Award as one of the first in Singapore’s hospitality sector to use a solar energy system.

Other amenities in the hotel include the Orchid Club Lounge which offers the hotel’s top level panoramic views of the city, private meeting spaces, a library and dedicated Club Concierge for guests staying on the Orchid Club floor.  Free buffet breakfast, evening cocktails and canapes and priority check-in and out at the lounge are some of the privileges.   There is also a 24-hour contemporary open-kitchen concept restaurant, LIME, that serves local dishes as well as East-West fusion cuisine using organic produce.
