RJ-Romain Jerome Launches First Diving Watch – The Octopus

Watches - RJ Octopus

16 November 2012, Singapore – RJ-Romain Jerome introduces its first diver’s watch – the Octopus.   Featuring two crowns, the Octopus is equipped with an exclusive internal unidirectional rotating sapphire bezel system featuring engraved five-minute graduation.   The Superluminova ‘blue emission’ on the chapter ring’s markers and the luminescent hands ensure maximum visibility under the water.

Playing on the number eight depicting the number of legs an Octopus has, there are eight octagon head screws on the 46mm case.  The back of the watch is stamped by a hand-engraved octopus.  The two screw-locked crowns are adorned with eight rivets and guarantee a water resistance of 888 feet for each model limited to 888 pieces.

Other highlights of this time piece include a notch bezel made of oxidised and stabilised steel from the Titanic.  The dial carries the large X-shaped intersection found on dials in the RJ-Romain Jerome collections, with its carefully satin-brushed traverse struts and paws.  The interior of the black rubber strap features suction cups like those found on the arms of an octopus.

The Octopus comes in three versions: steel, black PVD-coated steel and black PVD-coated steel with red gold and are available at RJ-Romain Jerome authorised retailers.
