To get the ball rolling, assigning of roles and costume fitting for over 400 scare actors will have to be completed in a limited spam of time. During the fitting, scare actors were being briefed on the storyboard of their horror zones to aid them in preparing and getting into the character of their role.

Preparation for this year’s Universal Studios Singapore Halloween Horror Nights 2 begun right after last year’s inaugural Halloween Horror Nights. With five scare zones and three haunted houses each covering a specific portion of the storyboard, it is not just plain horror for Halloween Horror Nights 2, expect a lot more mental trauma & fear.

Let’s make this a perfect birthday celebration for the one you love… see video below:

Roadshows with free Haunted House Thrills

If you still need convincing on visiting the Halloween Horror Nights 2, head on down to The Cathay (from today) and Orchard Cineleisure (from 15 Oct) to experience that 1% of horror from USS Halloween Horror Nights 2.

7 October 2012

On this night, over 400 scare actors, directors, producers & crews from the Class of Halloween Horror Nights 2 gathered at the Pantages Hollywood Theater in Universal Studios Singapore for a debrief on the overall concepts and storyline for Halloween Horror Nights 2. As the details were being presented, you could see the adrenaline rushing through everyone in the theater, excited and eager to get on location to check out their designated horror zones for the first time.

Upon reaching my set, Total Lockdown, on New York Street, I was impressed with the set. The once beautiful and swanky street has turned into a Bio Hazard zone with vehicle wreckage filling the street, where pure mayhem will unfold. *Spoilers not included, somethings are better when you experience it yourself.

Scare Acting 101

BOO is LAME. You have to be in-character making everyone believe that you are your character. Catch your victims off guard. Avoid physical contact with your victims. Scare them and move away.

With all these rules, props, make up and the number of practice runs every scare actor has to go through, you can expect only the highest quality of scares you can find in Asia.

The Undertaker and me
The Undertaker and me

After many days of drills and practice, we are ready to don into our costumes & outfit for first time after they went through a “HORRIFYING” process. In our Total Lockdown cast holding room, we are sharing room with the cast from Dungeon of Damnation. This is the first time I meet the Undertaker from Dungeon of Damnation in full costume… I AM FREAKING IMPRESSED!!! For a moment I thought he was the real thing and standing at 1.9 metres tall, he did freaked out some of the girls.

Though the guidance from our director and producer, everyday is a learning curve for us newbie scare actors. Starting without costume and makeup, we learn how be in character and started scaring any USS staffs that happened to walk pass our zone to improve our scaring techniques and maintaining our role all the time. If you can’t convince yourself, you can’t convince others. That’s why we have so many nights of practice and lessons before the show begins on 19 October 2012.

With the help of Nike+ Sports GPS watch, I tracked that I’ve covered 5.71 km through my shift as an scare actor. 5.71 km!!! I’m only covering one zone and it’s not even opening night, that’s how much sweat we need to shed as scare actors.

17 October 2012

It was full dress rehearsal for USS Team and Media preview for Halloween Horror Nights 2. FINALLY!!! We had big crowds coming in for us to give them some BIG SCARES! Before the gates opened for the guests to enter the park, we had to undergo a “HORRIFICATION” makeup process… Check out this video on my transformation:

Check out the chemical burn effect on my face. Don’t you agree with me that it is SIMPLY AWESOME!!! My makeup even sent some of the crew running away from me in broad daylight.
Here's my final look after the makeup at USS Halloween Horror Nights 2

At 7.45pm, we were ready and on standby to proceed to our respective zones to “welcome” our guests. As our first batch of guest approached, pure mayhem unfolded. Boys & girls were screaming and running around terrified by us who roamed New York Street. Some came prepared, but we always look out for that very moment they went off guard. It was our duty to do our very best to freak everyone. NO ONE shall be spared.

I never had so much fun scaring so many people in one night. Starting off as a lousy actor in the very beginning, I am now confident in staying in a role and be able to make people believe in what I portray in my role. All thanks to the lessons and guidance from our dear Total Lockdown zone director Amanda Lea Prosser. So this is it for now, do check out our review for USS Halloween Horror Nights 2 which will be up in the next couple of days.

My greatest fear is the fact that you’re trapped in a tiny space in total darkness, hallucinating about haunted thoughts especially after catching several horror movies. You will start to develop goosebumps and try not to look around. Your eyelids start to bat several times and you realized there’s a something at the corner of your eyes or floating above you. This creepy feeling happens when u’re lying on the bed trying to get some decent sleep but you’re suffering from insomnia. Even the thought of having nightmares stops you from getting to sleep.

  26. My greatest fear has nothing to do with the supernatural, but when I was younger I used to have the same dream of me & my Mom on the bus, where she would end up alighting without me. So I’d say my greatest fear would be being alone, without any family in this world.

  27. Ong Yuan Hao

My greatest fear? That would be clowns, with all the heavy make-up on and everything. I get absolutely FREAKED OUT when a clown smiles and turns to my direction. I mean, just imagine the sinister clown holding a bloodstained knife, glancing at me. Even the Joker gives me the creeps. I can hear their laugh in my head now: MUAHAHAHAHA!

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN! 🙂

  28. Greatest fear would be not being able to get picked and get scared enough at HALLOWEEN!! woohooo!~

  29. Greatest Fear : BLOOD!! The sight disgust you, the smell makes u feel nausea, the touch of it makes u wanna RUN AWAY!

  30. Samantha Lee

My greatest fear is lighting. I would not call myself having astraphobia, because I am not afraid of thunder. I’m only afraid of lightning strike. I’d always avoid walking long distance with umbrella under the rain because I’m scared that I’d be struck by lightning.

  31. My greatest fear is NOT BEING SCARED ENOUGH ON HALLOWEEN 😉

  32. My greatest fear would be BALLOONS…… I know it’s weird and funny to be scared of balloons. I have never like the ‘pop’ sound when a balloon burst. Till today, I will freak out whenever i see them near me. I hope i get to overcome that ‘fear’ one day. ;/

  33. Pingback: ASUS Padfone 2 will hit Singapore before end of December | SUPERADRIANME

  34. My mum is the biggest fear! She just gives me endless homework and demands higher grade after each test! She would beat me when I sneak out to play or when I “misbehave”. The stress I feel living with her is intense!

  35. DOLLS, how can they not be the scariest with those i’m gonna get you eyes. Especially after we played kungfu tournament with them.

  36. CLOWNS!, how can this not be the scariest?!

  37. My greatest fear is public speaking. I realised that fear when I was asked to do a presentation for my project. That situation where all eyes are upon you and when audience expect you to deliver a coherent and intelligent speech, just got onto my nerves. I got all tensed up and started stammering. It was so scary!

  38. My greatest fear is to find a spooky-being standing behind me while I’m looking in the mirror!

  39. my greatest fear…flying roaches and all things creepy crawlies!!!

  40. My greatest fear – wet, stinky, stained toilets. While wearing uncovered slippers. And there’s no toilet paper. Horrrrrrrors!

  41. My GREATEST FEAR would be Eternal Damnation in Hell.

  42. My greatest fear is the haunted house. It’s ultimate horror to be surrounded with supernatural spirits enclosed in a claustrophobic dark arena with nowhere to run for help.

  43. my greatest fear is the fear of facing problems and obstacles that arised in my life. i always thought to myself that if i’m able to overcome it, nothing’s impossible!

  44. Veronica (@liangveronica)

the biggest fear is the struggle of suppressing the fear you have knowing something horror or scary is approaching yet not knowing when! when the heart beats faster, you know the thrill is getting higher!

  45. Veronica (@liangveronica)

my biggest fear is definitely the struggle inside knowing something horror or scary is gonna happen but yet not knowing when! the feeling of heartbeat faster as the thrill gets higher!

  47. My greatest fear is definitely GHOSTS!

I get scared watching ghost videos/movies and listening to ghost stories. Thank god, i have not experience seeing a ghost right before my own eyes. I don’t know what will happen to me. I think i’ll faint immediately.

  48. Greatest fear: Not being able to enjoy life n experience fun aka suffer from depression.
Second greatest fear: I couldn’t get any tickets to this year’s Universal Studio Halloween Night!

  49. michael lau

My greatest fear for this hhn 2 would be:
-getting strung by the puppet master and becoming part of his collection.
-getting tortured by the undertaker and trapped forever in the dungeon of damnation.
-getting sliced in the insanitarium and being one of doctor dementia’s specimens.
-becoming one of the lost souls of “唐人街”death alley and captured by the evil spirits.
-getting infected by the radioactive substance in total lockdown turning into zombies.
-being chopped and becoming a selling product at the bizzare bazaar.
    – not getting to this grand and horrific event.

  50. My greatest fear lies in the mental trepidation that accompanies the knowledge that the unknown horror is out there waiting for you, looking at you, taunting but yet not appearing in front of you. Facing the horror may be very scary, but not knowing and having to anticipate what awaits you is when the fear is magnified most and this mental torture is what I fear most.

  51. Hong Jingting

My greatest fear is clowns! they always give me the eerie feel !

  52. My greatest fear would be Clowns & Mascots.

I wonder how i’ll survive if i were to go to Halloween Horror Nights 2. I would really love to experience myself in such position.

  53. My greatest fear is actually looking at dolls in the middle of the night. Perhaps it was due to an influence from the horror movie which i have seen when i was young, whenever i looked at such dolls in the middle of the night, i would imagine the doll coming alive and waving to me in the dark. I would start to imagine that the doll would come running after me, trying to kill me with its hand! Just thinking of the image while typing simply gives me the creeps >< Being 21st this year, i want to celebrate halloween for the first time with my friends. I hope that i can use this opportunity to challenge my fears, to reach a breakthrough and use this as an opportunity to unleash my stress in school through screaming my lungs out at the halloween horror. *Already followed ur in twitter 🙂

  54. GREATEST FEAR: DARKNESS

    What scares me about darkness?
Is it because I don’t know what is in the dark area that could potentially harm me. Dark places is frightful to me because I see many horror movies taking place in the dark, scary theme parks are set in the dark and typically Halloween pranks are more frightening without light. When I’m in the dark area, I will start to imagine of all the scary thoughts. I will never ever be alone in the dark because that is my greatest fear.

So on this October, from greatest fear.. I’m trying to overcome it and make it as the greatest achievement.. I want to fight my fear by going to Halloween Horror Nights 2! To survive five scare zones and three DARK Haunted Houses. Will I get the chance to overcome my fear?? Only you can give me the chance. Hehehe.. Superadrianme.com, PICK ME!! 🙂

    Sincerely,

    Hamzah Kent

My greatest fear is actually those ancestor photo that is hanged on the wall!
I still remembered when I went back to my house in taiwan for the first time at the age of 8years old. I suddenly woke up in the middle of the night, and when I stepped out of the wrong, I was chased by the photo, accompanied with red light!
And the next day I ended up in my parents room.

From then on, I would feel sick whenever I see those kind of photo.

  56. My greatest fear is losing my loved ones to the natural occurence of death.

  57. the greatest fear will be the day which is the end of the world! =D

  58. Greatest fear is cockroaches that flies! Yeeks… writing this is enough to give me the creeps up my spine.
