18 September 2012, Singapore – Ultra lounge Pangaea at Marina Bay Sands has launched together with Mouawad a cocktail that costs a sparkling S$32,000! With only five such cocktails available at Pangaea, the Jewel of Pangaea was custom-created by Singapore mixologist Ethan Leslie Leong whom we first met at Maison Ikkoku. Ethan has created the the cocktail to taste great rather than have a precious diamond thrown into a martini. The Jewel of Pangaea contains premium products such as the 1985 Vintage Krug; gold-flakes infused Richard Hennessy cognac; a smoked raw sugar cube infused with a mixture of apple wood, hickory wood and lemon wood and smoked infused Jerry Thomas bitters and most important ingredient of all the Mouawad Triple X 1-carat diamond. The Triple X diamond has received the highest possible grading for its cut, polish and symmetry from its certificate-issuing laboratory.
Mouawad holds three world records for owning the most expensive single pear-shaped diamond worth US$12.76 million, creating the most luxurious and expensive piece of lingerie ever made worth US$11 million and the most valuable handbag in the world worth US$3.8 million.
Michael Ault, the founder of Pangaea feels that The Jewel of Pangaea represents the Pangaea lifestyle where the cocktail is “Pangaea in a glass”.
