24 July 2012, Kuala Lumpur – Air Asia X just introduced the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 for its in-flight entertainment (IFE) system for flights to Australia, Japan, Korea, China and Taiwan.
AirAsia X partnered Tune Box, Tune Group’s digital media arm, to offer the IFE system with an all-enhanced high resolution screen and premium sound system on its long-haul destinations. Tune Box has partnered Stellar to acquire film, television, music, games and digital magazine content.
The IFE sets will be loaded with popular games such as Uno, Where’s Wally Now?, and Shark Dash. Digital Magazines such as AirAsia’s inflight magazine Travel 360, Passions and International Business Review will also be available.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 will replace the older portable e-Players so if you have booked the portable e-Player previously for future flights, you would receive the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 IFE set at no additional cost.
Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has a battery life of up to 10 hours and is available for rent onboard all flights for RM45 each way. You can also pre-book the IFE system online on airasia.com for RM35 each way.
