1 May 2012, Singapore – Recently I shot Men’s Fashion Week Singapore 2012 using Sony’s latest Ultra-High Speed memory card. Downloading the high res images from the memory card to my laptop was so much faster than my previous SD card. The high transfer speed and durability proof these cards to be a reliable storage media.
Launched in March this year, Sony’s Ultra-High Speed (UHS-I) interface allows a faster read speed of up to 94mb/s and write speed of 45mb/s (except for the 8GB card which has a write speed of 22mb/s) so that you can shoot or record HD videos continuously. However, if your device is not compatible with UHS-I interface, then the memory cards maintain a Class 10 capability with a minimum non-fragmented sequential write speed of 10mb/s.
These cards can also be used with Secure Digital high Capacity (SDHC) and Secure Digital Extended Capacity (SDXC) memory card compatible products. These cards are also durable, water-proof and have a wide range of operating temperatures.
Sony File Rescue Software lets you recover your 3D movies and photos as well as Full Advance Video Coding High Definition (AVCHD) 60p video files should you accidentally delete them.
The UHS-I memory cards are available in storage capacities of 8GB, 16GB and 32GB and have a recommended retail price of S$33, S$59 and S$119 respectively. They are available at Sony stores and authorised dealers.
