Sony Alpha A57
Sony Alpha A57

14 March 2012, Singapore – Successor to the Alpha A55, the Sony Alpha A57 DSLR camera  is designed to be much bigger than the Alpha A55.  It promises to give you a firmer grip and a longer battery life.

The Alpha A57  features high speed 12fps shooting, Full HD 50p recording and the new high-resolution Tru-Finder which offers a wide viewing angle and 100% field of view; and allows for efficient framing, focusing and real-time preview.

Similar to the Alpha A55, the new Alpha A57 also uses the Translucent Mirror Technology.  This technology directs incoming light to the CMOS image sensor and the AF sensor at the same time, achieving full-time continuous autofocus during both still and video shooting. Bringing together a 16.1 mega pixel Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor and the latest generation BIONZ engine by Sony, the A57 reproduces accurate images with extremely quick speed and stunningly low noise across a wide ISO 100-16,000 range.

The video below would give you a better understanding of the difference between Alpha A55 and Alpha A57 as well as the new features of the latest model.

The new A57 comes is the world’s first DSLR with Auto Portrait Framing that helps you compose scenes just like a professional photographer by proposing alternative compositions, in addition to the original photo. This feature also identifies the subject’s face via face detection technology and automatically trims parts of the scene to create a well-balanced composition based on the time-tested rule of thirds. The Auto Portrait Framing also helps photography beginners to effectively compose scenes by proposing alternative compositions.
