FUJIFILM X Pro1 Price and ISO Quality Test

22 February 2012, Singapore – Today FUJIFILM Corporation launched in Singapore the FUJIFILM X-Pro1, an all-new interchangeable lens camera system with a 16 megapixel APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor, a brand new X lens mount, Hybrid Multi Viewfinder and three prime lenses.

The recommended retail pricing for FUJIFILM X-Pro1 is S$2,400 (inclusive of 7% GST) for body only, while basic lens from S$900 to S$1,000 (inclusive of 7% GST). The FUJIFILM X-Pro1 will be available in all major electronics retailers in Singapore in March 2012.

Since there’s a “Pro” in the X-Pro1, FUJIFILM have paired the X-Pro1 with 3 compact prime FUJINON XF lens to deliver high quality sharp images. The “XF18mmF2 R”, “XF 35mmF1.4 R” and “XF60mmF2.4 R Macro” all offer precise control over depth-of-field and deliver excellent out-of-focus bokeh, thanks to the design of the molded aperture diaphragm blades. All three lens will be available from March 2012.

The newly developed APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor used in the X-Pro1 does not need a low-pass filter, that is a commonly found in conventional sensors for the reduction of moiré effect. Thus the new APS-C X-Trans CMOS sensor increases the efficiency of the resolution and quality of the image captured by the X-Pro1. I am impressed by how little noise (graininess) can be found on the images captured under high ISO, it was even of acceptable quality when I capture an image using ISO 25600.
