6 November 2011, Singapore – For the past two nights, Clark Quay Central Fountain Square was transformed into festival of all things Japanese ranging from Kirin Beer, food, music to performances. The inaugural Kirin Ichiban Festival organized by Asia Pacific Breweries was predominantly a by-invite only Event.
We captured excerpts of Saturday night’s event in the video below.
I was there last night to personally soak up the novel atmosphere. How often do we get to enjoy a Japanese festival of similar nature! Having had a couple of 135ml cans of Kirin Beer, I was amused by the shamisen instrument that the young duo from KUNI-KEN performed to kick off the entertainment for the night. The duo transformed the conventional shamisen sound into one that appeals to the modern ear.
Takahiro Ueno 隆博 上野 wowed the audience with his sleek and agile moves. He collaborated with both Kuni-Ken as well as HIFANA!
