August 2011, Singapore – Café Swiss at Swissôtel The Stamford Singapore, known for it’s Swiss cuisine, serves a buffet spread of Spanish culinary delights every Wednesday.
Enjoy live Spanish music while you gourmandize on the tapas, queso, paella, roast and a spread of cold and hot buffet dishes. Compliment your Spanish experience with a pitcher of Sangria.
Tapas literally means “to cover” is eaten in Spain usually before dinner and has brought Spanish cuisine from relative obscurity to a world-wide consciousness. Popular tapas are also available including gambas al Ajillo (prawns cooked with garlic), pimientos de Padron (sweet peppers pan-fried with olive oil and sea salt), pulp a la Parrilla (char-grilled octopus marinated in rosemary, thyme and olive oil) and tortilla de patates (potato and onion torte with egg and garlic aioli).
No buffet should end without dessert and the dessert spread includes crematoriums catalana (baked Catalan Custard with Lemon and Cinnamon), empanadittas de chocolate (sugar powdered chocolate turnovers), Ruffin (honey and nut nougat), to name a few.
