In March 2011, we wrote a post on the First Look & Hands On For Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 & SII, and we notice quite a big change in the look & feel for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 from 2 months ago. Knowing what the consumers want, Samsung went back to the lab to redesign the look of the tablet to make it competitive to the current market demands. So in the final product, the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 has been made thinner from 10.1mm to 8.6mm. It also now weighs less from 599grams to 560grams (WiFi) & 565grams (3G).
Other than the “trimming” and “weight-loss”, the Samsung Galaxy 10.1 also underwent “face-lifting” & “colour treatment” too. The back now looks more sleek than the previous prototype which is more executive looking and now Samsung offers two colour variations for you to choose from, the Matt Black back casing or the Glossy White back casing. *Note: only the back cover changes colour, the front bezel still remains black for both variations.
Compared to the Samsung Glaxy Tab 10.1, the Samsung Galaxy SII only has minor upgrades made to the launch edition. The Samsung Galaxy SII will have a 1.2GHz dual core processor compared to the previously announced 1GHz Dual core processor. The Samsung Galaxy SII will also come preloaded with exclusive applications to Samsung, here are the list of applications:
- B-Secure Tracker Pro >> Phone Security
- Citi Mobile >> Mobile Banking
- Clozette >> Fashion and Social
- EZ-link >> Card Management
- POEMS >> Trading
- SONAR >> Interactive Music

hi,
i’d like some confirmation on whether the SGS2, to be launched here in Singapore, will use Exynos or Tegra 2. i heard that different countries may get different processors (i.e. some Exynos, some Tegra 2).
thanks in advanced!

Hi Rex,
till now there’s no indication of the chip set going to be used. Samsung only mention its a dual core 1.2GHz Processor. i will ask around to see if i can find out more for you.
Hi Kai, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a tablet and on the OS (Android 3.0 Honeycomb) there’s no dialer function for you to make calls as of now.
Can I know whether this upcoming new product ‘Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1’ is a mobile tablet? I need to know whether it can call in and out just like a phone.
